Knee Rotations

Throughout the day we need to encourage as much range of movement as possible within the body. Knee rotations promote a different kind of movement in the leg and dynamically loosen surrounding muscles.

Sitting in a Chair

  1. Whilst sitting in a chair, place both hands underneath the thigh, just above the knee.
  2. With your hands, raise the leg slightly off the floor.
  3. Slowly, try to draw circles with the foot 10 times in each direction.
  4. Change feet and repeat steps 1-3.
  5. Play with different circle sizes, starting with small, then medium, and finally large.

Lying on the Floor

  1. Lie on your front with the arms in a comfortable position.
  2. Bend the left leg at the knee.
  3. Draw circles with the foot in the air.
  4. Play with different circle sizes, starting with small, then medium, and finally large.
  5. Change feet and repeat steps 2-4.
