Elbow Rotations

Throughout the day we need to encourage as much range of movement as possible within the body. Elbow rotations promote a different kind of movement in the arm and dynamically loosen surrounding muscles.

Sitting in a Chair

  1. Whilst sitting in a chair, place one hand underneath the arm, just above the elbow.
  2. Slowly, try to draw circles with the hand, 10 times in each direction.
  3. Change arm and repeat steps 1 and 2.
  4. Play with different circle sizes, starting with small, then medium, and finally large.

Lying on the Floor

  1. Lie on your back with the arms straight out to the side.
  2. Bend the right arm at the elbow.
  3. Draw circles with the hand in the air, making sure the elbow stays in contact with the ground.
  4. Play with different circle sizes, starting with small, then medium, and finally large.
